“Son
of Joseph”, “Son of David” & the
“Order
of Melchizedek”
R.
Glazerson often uses the terms “son of Joseph”, “son of Jesse”,
and “son of David” interchangeably when they are not
interchangeable.
David
was a descendant of Joseph.
But
David was the son of Jesse; not the son of Saul, who was the first
king of Israel.
Thus,
David did not inherit the kingship from either Jesse or Saul.
So,
how was David king?
David
was chosen by God to be king of Israel; and was a priest “according to the
order of Melchizedek”; which, in Hebrew, means “my king of
righteousness”.
Now,
in the following “interesting table”:
R.
Glazerson observes that the term “moshiach” occurs twice; which
he interpolates as the “son of Joseph” and the “son of David”.
Why
is that?
And
why does the term “moshiach” occur not once but twice
in this “interesting table”?
The
argument of those who believe in the “Torah
Codes” is that references to many current events can be found
there.
But
this must also refer to past
events.
So
would these “Torah
Codes” not also
include the fact that Mohammed received Revelations?
(The
answer I am looking for here is “Yes. Of course”.)
In
other words, I would argue that one of the references to the
“moshiach” in this particular “interesting table” is to the
“son of David”...
Whereas
the other reference to “moshiach” is to the “son of Mary”, a
term found in the Quran.
This is the reason that it occurs twice rather than just once.
But
what precisely
does the phrase “according to the order of Melchizedek” mean?
Briefly,
“according to the order of Melchizedek” is a reference to the
Vision that would later be referred to as the Vision of the “Son of
man” and the “Vision of Knowledge” (in the Thanksgiving
Hymns
of the Dead Sea Scrolls, written by Jesus).
In
other words, the kingship of David rests upon the fact that he
received the Vision of the “Son of man”; which is what is being
described in Psalm
18,
verses 6-15.
(And,
similarly, Psalm
2:7—interestingly,
a synchronicity with
Genesis
2:7—is an oblique reference to the Revelation of the Memory
of Creation; one of the elements of the Revelation of “the resurrection” .)
