the Term “Messiah” in the Quran*
the Term “Messiah” in the Quran*
“The Lord
[the Creator, the only Messiah and the only Savior—see
the Book of Isaiah] said unto my Lord [referring to the
Vision of the “Son of man”; also received by, among
others, Moses (the “Tree of Life”), David (Psalm 18:7-15), Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekiel and John], ‘Sit thou on my right
hand, till I put thine enemies underneath thy feet.’”**
(Psalm 110:1
King James Version)
The term “Messiah”
is found 11 times in 9 verses of the Quran (3:45, 4:157, 4:171
& 172, 5:17, 72 & 75 and 9:30 & 31); always being
used not in the way that Isaiah defines the term
“Messiah” (and not in the way that Jesus understands
that term in the Gospels); but always in a colloquial
sense; in other words, when found in the mouth of either the
unbelievers or those Christians who have no Knowledge of either the
Vision of the “Son of man” or the way that Isaiah defines the
term “Messiah”...
A distinction which,
as far as I know, has NEVER been made by any Muslim
religious official because they have NO Knowledge that the
“Night Journey” also refers to the Vision of the “Son of man”.
**For further
information, some of which is correct, some of which is wrong—because, similar to the Pharisees, R. Singer has NO Knowledge of the Vision of the
“Son of man”—see:
