Neurology and the
Evolution of Consciousness

Originating in the neurology of pleasure and pain/fear and desire, there is a continual succession of ephemeral and transitory images of creation and annihilation; all occurring prior to the existence of the image of the “self” itself as a ‘spatiality’ of consciousness.

It is then this consciousness of the “self” which creates (for purposes of survival) and attaches itself to the images of fear and desire, creation and annihilation; those images being less intense and of longer duration (not yet time) than the images prior to the existence of the “self”.

Thought then emerges, in the context of those images, for the purpose of extending the duration and maintaining continuity over time of the consciousness of the “self”; and referred to as the consciousness of the ‘thinker’.

In certain rigidly-defined contexts, there then occurs a time-reversal of consciousness, backwards from the annihilation of the consciousness of the ‘thinker’, through the resultant annihilation of the consciousness of the “self”, to the emergence of the images prior to the existence of the “self” (as briefly referred to by Jesus in Saying #84 of the Gospel of Thomas: “When you see your likeness, you rejoice. But when you see your images which came into being before you, and which neither die nor become manifest, how much you will have to bear!”); and, in certainly rigidly-defined contexts, the receiving of the Vision of the “Son of man”; and, through a subsequent time-reversal, the Revelation of the memories of previous lives, the Revelation of the Memory of Creation, and the Revelation of the Memory of ‘the Fall’ into the consciousness of the “self” and the ‘thinker’.
