A Summary of Segals Errors*

The following video:

https://biblicalstudiesonline.wordpress.com/2015/08/04/alan-segal-on-life-after-death/

should be understood in the context of Chapter 12, verse 9 of the
Book of Daniel:

“These words will remain
secret and sealed until the time of the End...”

In other words, Segal has no Knowledge of either the Revelation of “the resurrection” or the Vision of the “Son of man”; and is, in fact, paid to deny and contradict that Knowledge.

To summarize its major errors, then:

1) Near Death Experiences (NDEs) are referred to in the Tibetan Book of the Dead as the “vision of the peaceful deities” and/or the “vision of the wrathful deities”. In other words, they are illusory experiences which are received after death, but prior to the next ‘rebirth’ or ‘incarnation’.

2) The doctrine of a metaphysical ‘soul’ (as well as the existence of a metaphysical ‘heaven’ and ‘hell’) is exclusively a doctrine of pagan metaphysical philosophy. It is not to be found in the Revelations in the Torah, the Prophets (the Gospels or the Quran).

3) The first reference to “the resurrection” is not in the Book of Daniel; but, rather, in Chapter 26, verse 19 of the Book of Isaiah; where it is a figurative description of the revelation of the memories of previous lives.

4) The Michael mentioned in Chapter 12, verse1 of the Book of Daniel is not an “archangel”.

In accordance with Sura 2, verse 98 of the Quran, that Michael is to be understood as an “apostle” of Allah:

5) The Vision of the “Son of man” is a Revelation; it does not originate in the “mind of the prophet”; nor is it similar to a Near Death Experience.

It is one of the two fundamental Revelations on which the Torah, the Prophets, the Gospels and the Quran are based.

6) The statements that Alan Segal makes in this video clearly demonstrate that the doctrines of the Jewish priesthood have not changed in some two thousand years.

In the Thanksgiving Hymns of the Dead Sea Scrolls, Jesus writes that “Of the Vision of Knowledge [that is, the Vision of the “Son of man”] they [that is, the Jewish priesthood in Jerusalem] say: ‘It is unsure’. And, of the Way of Thy heart [that is, the Revelation of “the resurrection” as consisting of the revelation of the memories of previous lives]: ‘It is not the Way’.”

*The following e-mail was sent earlier today to Stanford Jewish Studies:

I would be more than happy if Professor Segal—or anyone else at Stanford Jewish Studies—would agree to debate me on the Doctrine of "the resurrection" as a Doctrine of 'Rebirth': http://unsealing-the-seven-seals.blogspot.com/2015/08/asummary-of-segal-serrors.html

The quicker that the Truth about "the resurrection" is made known, the quicker that the ideology underlying religious extremist violence can be defeated.
